(Kanban 是一種敏捷的方法，其發明者是豐田的大野耐一，從超市庫存管理的動態平衡中受到啟迪並藉此建立對應的模型來改進其工程的工作流。當貨架空了，倉管就會第一時間去補貨和進貨，這樣能夠隨時滿足客戶的需求，同時不至於有過多的庫存積壓。因為始終保持供需平衡，因此也提高了庫存管理的效率。 其中 Kanban 是日文的（看板） Kan 在日文中是視覺的意思，而 ban 在日文中是指卡片。
使用 Kanban 的好處 看板圖是我們在項目中實施看板的常見工具，傳統上，我們用一塊白板和看板卡（便利貼或者白紙+磁鐵）就能當看板圖用了，便利貼代表著不同的工作。當然近年來項目管理軟體工具已經能夠在線創建看板了。
